Blackhills and WillowSpring Labradors Stud Contract

Our Stud Dogs are available to approved bitches, by which we mean that all relevant health testing (hip, elbow and current eye results) needs to be done PRIOR to mating on all bitches, they must also be within the breed standard for colour and type. The stud dogs original paperwork ie:hip/elbow scores current eye certificates, EIC and PRA results and any other DNA testing done  are available  to view, a copy of the above will be provided to the bitch owner. The bitch owner must provide the same to the stud dog owner. In the case of semen being shipped a copy will suffice.

Please contact us prior to the planned mating to let us know when your bitch is due in season and when you are planning a mating.

We will, where possible, provide a minimum of two matings, generally we aim for more than two.

All puppies resulting from  any mating are to be placed on the restricted register or have a Not to be Bred from Endorsement placed on their paperwork. This does not include any puppies retained by the breeder. However, should the breeder then place any retained puppies, a Not to be Bred from Endorsement is to be put on the puppy’s paperwork.  Unless otherwise arranged 

Any other arrangements (IE selling a puppy overseas) where an export pedigree can’t be issued with endorsements  are to be discussed with the stud dog owner.

• At least one blood progesterone test is required prior to the bitch arrivng, if  the bitch owner is unable to get this done then I will have my vet do the blood test and that  cost  will be passed  on to the bitch owner.

 

• Stud fee is payable at the time of mating unless otherwise arranged.
• If Stud fee isnt paid at the time of Mating a $500  non refundable  Mating fee is to be paid before the bitch is collected,  if there are 0-1 puppy  this is all that is to be paid, IF   2 or more pups the balance of the stud fee is  expected within 48 hours  of the pups being born.
• A litter is considered to be two or more live pups.
• If stud fee is paid at time of mating A free return service will be granted if there are no puppies at all – providing that the same stud dog is still available. If the same stud dog is unavailable then a replacement will be offered. A replacement bitch to that stud dog will be at the discretion of the stud dog owner. 
• Stud fee is  $3000  for natural mating, Frozen semen  POA

IN THE CASE OF NO LITTER FROM FROZEN SEMEN,  NO RETURN SERVICE IS OFFERED. THE DOGS’ FERTILITY IS TESTED AT THE TIME OF FREEZING AND A SEMEN REPORT CAN BE PROVIDED, STUD FEE IS PAYABLE BEFORE THE SEMEN IS RELEASED

If  an AI (Artificial Insemination) or progesterone testing is required then all associated costs will be met by the bitch owner.

If fresh, chilled or frozen semen is to be shipped to the bitch owner, the bitch owner is responsible for all costs relating to collecting and shipping the semen. This includes, but is not limited to, vet expenses and traveling costs.

We are happy to board the bitch for up to 5 days and all due care will be taken while the bitch is in  our care , from the sixth day, a boarding fee of $20 per day will be charged 

While we respect the bitch owner’s rights to advertise on web sites like “Trade Me”, neither the stud dog’s name, photograph, nor our Kennel names are to appear in or be used in any advertisement.
